This work is very different, reflecting perhaps some of the struggle I've been through while in chemotherapy treatment for Breast Cancer this past year, 2008. One of the drugs, Taxol, took away the feeling in my hands and feet to the point where I was dropping paint brushes, and couldn't feel the ground under my feet. I began to thin the paints out and pour layers on the canvas. I found I could mix and move the paint around by lifting and manipulating the whole canvas. There is some palette knife work in them which requires less fine motor skills than brush work.
I find the process of painting with this technique very exciting and the end products unique and visually gratifying.
